Off-Grid Homestead
Finishing construction Summer 2024.. this home was designed around efficiencies. The building form allows for quick construction while minimizing structural framing. Oriented along an east/west axis the home bisects a north/south site to take advantage of predominant winds and solar exposure for future energy systems. Distinguished by furnishings, the main living area, inhabits one large volume while two exterior hallways flank the 'utility' spaces and capture as much exterior light as possible. While the home is currently using standard electrical utilities future solar installations will see the home entirely off-grid - featuring isolated well + sanitation systems, water retainment, and a closed-loop geothermal + forced air system.
